How long is the average wedding video?
The length of a wedding video depends on which video we are talking about. I offer 3 main wedding videos: THE HIGHLIGHT VIDEO which will be anywhere from 3.5 minutes to 5 minutes depending on the music that has been chosen, THE CEREMONY VIDEO which will be however long the ceremony is (if your ceremony is 30 minutes, the video will be 30 minutes etc.) and THE RECEPTION VIDEO which can be upwards of an hour or more depending on how long the speeches last.
What is included in wedding videography?
Every videographer will have their own specific way of presenting the wedding videos. I offer 3 main packages: The highlight video, the highlight video plus the ceremony video, and the highlight video plus the ceremony video plus the reception video. Other videos that can be purchased are engagement videos and same day edits.
What is the average turn around time for wedding videographers?
Every wedding videographer will have a different turn around time. For me, turn around time is up to 6 months.
What is a good price for a wedding videographer?
Every wedding videographer will have their own pricing. Pricing is based on hours spent shooting at the wedding, hours for editing, hiring a second shooter, insurance for gear, music licensing, experience and more. Typically, a wedding videographer that has been in the industry longer and has really great and consistent work will charge a lot more than someone just starting out. Experience is crucial and worth every penny. Knowing how a wedding day works, where to place the cameras, not getting in the way of the photographer, capturing all of the big and little moments, capturing clean audio and filming flattering angles are just some of the skills that are crucial to a great wedding video and only come with experience. Im always a firm believer in “you get what you pay for”.
Can I choose the music for my wedding highlight video?
Wedding video music needs to be licensed. This ensures that the artist is getting paid and that the videos won’t have copyright infringement issues. Typically, the music in a ceremony video and a reception video will be the music that is from the event itself. The licensed music will be the song or songs that you hear in the HIGHLIGHT video. I use a music licensing site called The Music Bed. If a couple wants to help choose the music, I will typically send them a link to the website and they can make me a list of their favourite choices. As long as we use licensed music, I am happy to choose the song for you, work with you to choose the song, or let you choose all together. The main thing is sticking to licensed music.
